FIDM graduate, master seamstress, and the calm presence every bride deserves during the most important fitting of her life.
Carla Westerbeck did not stumble into bridal alterations — she built her way there deliberately, beginning with a passion for fashion that led her to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, where she graduated in 2003. But her career in the craft started even earlier. In 2001, while still attending fashion school, she joined the team at Keepsakes Bridal and began building her expertise alongside founder Sylvia Guraydin.
For the next 24 years, Carla served hundreds of Sacramento-area brides with precision, patience, and a deeply personal approach to bridal care. When Sylvia retired in August 2025, there was only one person she trusted to carry the studio forward. Carla took over ownership that same year, continuing Keepsakes Bridal’s 30-year tradition of making brides feel beautiful, calm, and absolutely certain on their wedding day.
What clients say most consistently is not just that the work was perfect — it is that Carla understood exactly what they wanted, even when they struggled to put it into words. That intuitive ability to hear what a bride means, not just what she says, is something no school can teach. It is earned, stitch by stitch, over a career built on genuine craft and care.
Keepsakes Bridal was established inside Bridal Mart before growing into a dedicated bridal alterations studio known for precision, patience, and deeply personal service.
A young Carla Westerbeck, then attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, joined Keepsakes and began building her couture craft alongside founder Sylvia Guraydin.
After 24 years and hundreds of gowns, Sylvia retired and entrusted Keepsakes Bridal to Carla. The studio, the address, and the commitment to excellence remain exactly as they always were.
